    WORKING PAPER

    The Marres–Ramjet Fusion Model

    An Interpretable Strategic Allocation Framework

    Jonathan Edbert Muliadi·Marres Insights, Singapore·May 2026

    Abstract

Firms allocate finite strategic resources under conditions of incomplete visibility, uneven operational readiness, varying propagation efficiency, and decaying accumulated goodwill. Existing allocation frameworks frequently treat marketing activation, operational capacity, and long-term organisational memory as partially disconnected systems, while many contemporary predictive approaches sacrifice interpretability for optimisation flexibility.

The Marres–Ramjet Fusion Model proposes an interpretable strategic allocation framework integrating structural investment, activation dynamics, absorptive capacity, propagation effects, market visibility, and intertemporal goodwill persistence within a unified state-dependent system. Observable and proxy-derived organisational conditions are mapped into dynamic strategic regimes — including structure-starved, jet-starved, atmosphere-limited, and balanced states.

Within the framework, activation effectiveness is constrained by absorptive readiness rather than assumed to scale indefinitely with expenditure. Accumulated goodwill evolves through realised strategic lift and decay dynamics, introducing path dependence into organisational growth behaviour.

Validation experiments demonstrate stable parameter recoverability, bounded degradation under noise, and coherent emergence of distinct allocation regimes. Historically anchored demonstrations illustrate coherent allocation responses and goodwill trajectories under differing strategic conditions, including Starbucks (2008), Dropbox (2010), and Clubhouse (2021).

The framework is designed not as a deterministic forecasting engine, but as an interpretable strategic simulation system for allocation reasoning, organisational diagnostics, sensitivity analysis, and inspectable modelling under partial observability.

    Strategic Regimes

    Structure-Starved

Insufficient structural investment limits absorptive capacity, constraining all downstream activation.

    Jet-Starved

Adequate structure, insufficient activation spend — capability without utilisation.

    Atmosphere-Limited

Activation and structure are balanced but atmospheric reach caps effective conversion.

    Balanced

Structure, activation, and atmosphere are mutually reinforcing at productive equilibrium.

    Historically Anchored Demonstrations

    Starbucks
    2008

Structural contraction regime — over-expansion, activation without absorptive foundation, and goodwill decay dynamics during the global financial crisis.

    Dropbox
    2010

Jet-starved to balanced transition — referral propagation as a structural substitute, atmosphere formation through viral mechanics.

    Clubhouse
    2021

Atmosphere-limited collapse — explosive propagation without structural depth, rapid goodwill accumulation followed by decay under competitive entry.
